WITHDRAWAL explores the tension between separation and the persistence of what remains. Fields of deep black and warm ivory are divided by an uncompromising band of dark burgundy, while their textured surfaces reveal marks that accumulate, fracture, and dissolve. Small, isolated black forms interrupt the composition, suggesting a presence gradually retreating beyond reach. The contrast between the restless, eroded surfaces and the stillness of the central division creates a sense of restrained intensity. Nothing is entirely erased, yet nothing remains intact. This painting holds contradiction in suspension, where distance becomes tangible and even the smallest traces carry the weight of something irretrievable.
