HESSIAN feels caught between obstruction and exposure, as though something is trying to come through but can never arrive intact. The black field holds its ground while the fractured white bands stretch across the surface like interference, repeatedly breaking apart and reforming. There is something uneasy in that repetition, a sense of memory becoming distorted through distance, yet the painting never collapses into chaos. It stays controlled, restrained, and tense, suspended somewhere between disappearance and clarity.
